Ok so Thor protecting Loki is cute, but how about Loki about to obliterate the next thing that moves, injured and on the ground but protectively crouching over an unconscious and very injured Thor?

Thor kinda breaks my heart in this scene. His brother is about to use him to “test if gods are immortal”, and he just stands there in stunned silence. He doesn’t threaten Loki or try to reason with him. But he does cry. (it’s hard to tell from the blurry cam gifs)
YES THANK YOU GOD
Everyone always focuses on leaky Loki and him being the one to be shedding the lone manly tear in the scenes like this (with good reason, of course), but I don’t think we’ve ever seen Thor as lost or as resigned as he is here.
He’s not pleading or shouting or raging, he’s just silently accepting the fact that his brother has succumbed so completely to whatever madness the Tesseract and Thanos have inflicted on him.
I think it also has a lot to do with the fact that he blames himself for what’s happened to his brother. Because, all things considered, a great deal of Loki’s anger and sense of betrayal stems from him.
So this moment is him deciding to allow Loki to have this. To have a victory over the mighty Thor. To step out of the shadows once and for all, regardless of whether or not the cost may be his own life.
STOP BREAKING MY HEART
I’ve already talked about this, but well, it’s on my dash and I can’t ignore it.
I think, besides Frigga, Thor is the only one who truly loves Loki no matter what. He doesn’t try to imprison him, he doesn’t try to kill him. He just wants to bring him home. To set everything right. He could have easily taken him out when he took Loki from the plane, but he didn’t. He tried to reason with him instead. He doesn’t want to hurt Loki. He sees that Loki is hurt enough as it is, and just wants to show him love. But it’s too late for that, and that’s not really his fault. I can just imagine their childhood, where Thor would drag Loki on adventures he didn’t really want to go on just to include him, to show him he loved him, that he doesn’t care not many others think he’s weird or creepy or whatever. So of course he cries. He cries because he hates seeing his brother act this way, whether it’s because he’s being controlled, or of his own accord. He cries because, well, his brother is about to turn him into an Asgardian dropbear from 30,000 feet. He cries because he know he’s still going to try to just bring his little brother home instead of kill him, hurt him.
He tried to be a good brother, but he never too into consideration Loki’s needs, Loki’s feelings. He knows that, and he regrets that, because he does really love Loki as a brother, as family. He still calls him brother, still says ‘our father,’ even defends him when he kills eighty people.
Thor’s character is so complex, and he’s usually just taken as “Verily, big booming statements!’ There’s so much more to him, so much deeply intertwined with Loki’s emotions and actions. He knows his brother, knows he can be better, and it hurts him so much, he sheds tears, when Loki has fallen to his lowest.

((Also for Megs))
I shook his hand. Apparently he played Gravedigger in the Amber Does Dallas production of Repo! The Genetic Opera.
We had to miss it. We were too tired!

Kahlan Nightwing as Zack Fair and Pandarson as Cid Highwind!
Booyah! This is around 5-6pm, after being there since 8am. Cid refused to budge from the cool spot we found to sit at (that we weren’t supposed to sit at), so I scooted close.
The rest of the pics of Zack and Cid together should show Zack giving Cid bunny ears. And yes, Cid did smack Zack a lot that day. :3

Zack and his mun do not like mornings. WTF.
He is also grimacing at my coffee. Shut up, Zack, this is emergency wake0-up juice!
A-KON! Cid and I will be there! Wanna see Cid and me!? We will be at A-kon! Look for Lady!Zack and…Cid. :P I’ll be 2nd Class Zack and, if they let me, will have a Nerf sword. Cid will be…Cid. He might appear younger. Do not let appearances fool you. He is still an asshole!
Look for us and then be all ‘I’m from Tumblr’ and it’s like an insta-bond! :P
(Warning: Do not be alarmed if you see Zack kissing or cuddling a tall, dark-haired bear of a man. My boyfriend wouldn’t go as Aerith or Cloud…or Tifa…or even Barrett! :P)

Custom Gothic Bough Hunting Sword
A piece of steel from a mid 19th Century bridge was re-forged to make the blade of this Gothic Bough style hunting sword. The use of the sword for the hunt was quite common in the medieval period and was considered an excellent practice for war.
This piece is detailed with a guard forged to represent a twisted branch and has the lug on the side of the hilt in the same fashion. This lug on the guard was a common feature on hunting swords and messers of the period. The grip is a piece of stag antler that fit beautifully to the hand and was a favorite style of grip for these swords.

That glorious moment when you figure out a defining feature of your character that will fuck them up.
and you hate the fact that it’ll hurt them, but make them so human at the same time.
